The Connecticut
Valley Fair would like to thank Riverbend Career and Technical center for their work on our new field. The Heavy equipment
operator students have been busy digging trenches, leveling roads and installing water lines and electrical conduits.
This is a chance for the students to work "hands
on" on a real construction project. Our on going relationship with the school is a win-win situation for everyone involved.
The fair will utilize the school program and have the students work on all facets of developing our field program instructors
Jim Abbott and Ahren Hervey have been busy teaching students the proper way to run the heavy equipment on a real construction
project.
Our hope is to get more student involvement with our fair and develop the field for educational
programs and class fundraisers.
We also
hope to rekindle its relationship with The Future Farmers of America as well as other agricultural groups to develop programs
that will benefit our community.
